Steve Moening Celebration Of Life
Sunday November 12th
Corbett Grange Hall 37493 NE Grange Hall Road, Corbett, OR
2:00 - 4:00 PM
Springdale resident and community member Steve Moening, 68, passed away on Monday September 25th, 2023 in Gresham, OR. Steve's wife Lori is inviting you to join family and friends to celebrate Steve's amazing and full life. His community activities included volunteering weekly for the Multnomah County Animal Shelter, helping neighbors by mowing their lawns or fixing their lawn mowers (or mini-bikes), livestock caretaking, running the projector and speakers for most Corbett Grange sponsored events, working the Grand Floral Parade as a route monitor (using Ham radio), and participating annually in the Corbett 4th of July parade. "No" was not in his vocabulary as he always wanted to help in any way possible. Steve especially loved teaching. It was important to Steve to leave the world a better place and he did his best to accomplish just that. Steve loved music and was often found mowing his immaculately groomed lawn listening to Joe Bonamassa, Dylan, CCR, Gillian Welch, Jimmy Buffett, John Prine, Wyclef Jean, Jason Mraz... and thousands more!
Steve and his wife Lori moved to the area in July of 2008 from Portland. He was born in Lansing, Michigan, moving to Oregon in 1978 to pursue a career in electronics ending up at Intel for 32 years. He and Lori were married in 2003 in Fairview, OR. They enjoyed their retirement years with trips to see family in FL, MI, and CO. Closer to home they would frequently day trip to the coast for a seafood dinner or to the Hood River area for BBQ or homemade ice cream. Closer to home Steve and Lori could be found watching any motorized races on TV! They loved anything with wheels.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Coppler, Lansing, MI. Surviving family members include his wife Lori Moening, Troutdale, OR, sister Ila Burns (Vance) Tallahassee, FL, nephews David Waite Commerce City, CO, and Jason Pollock (Jasmine) Lansing, MI.
The family asks, in lieu of gifts or flowers, donations can be made to Columbia Grange #267 or the Multnomah County Animal Shelter.
