We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Rose City Cemetery & Funeral Home
Sig peacefully passed away from this life at home with his wife, Marlene, by his side. Sig, or "Siggie" as referred to by his family, was the little brother of the family and was loved beyond words. He loved life and had many friends.
Sig was born on February 28, 1956, to Sig and Elaine Hustad. He grew up in Portland, Oregon, and lived in his childhood home all his life. He and his wife purchased the home in 1983. Sig attended Harvey Scott Grade School and Madison High School. He remained good friends with many of his classmates from grade school and high school. Sig was happily retired and had a solid and rewarding career as a delivery driver for Ross Island and First Call Oil.
On June 18, 1982, Sig married Marlene Kaparich. They enjoyed many years of traveling and camping together. Sig especially loved the ocean and relaxing at the beach.
Sig had many interests, cars being the main one! He owned 4 cars, including his cherished Ranchero. His prized car was his beautiful 2000 Corvette. Sig was a member of the Cobra and Mustang Race Team. He also had a passion for photography-made videos and took pictures of some of his favorite places, race cars, and airplanes, which left us all with great memories of his wonderful ability to capture through photography. Sig loved his pets and had many beloved cats and dogs over the years. He will be missed by his family, friends, and the race community.
Sig is survived by his wife, Marlene; sister, Jan; brother, Ken (Judi); nieces, Emily and Julie; and nephews, Erik and James; and longtime friend, Sue Carneau.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Both will be at Rose City Funeral Home, 5625 NE Fremont St., Portland, OR 97213.
