Rudolph Tony Leech

August 1, 1942 — May 17, 2019

Rudolph Tony Leech was born August 1st, 1942 to the union of Hunter T Leech and Emma Lee Leech. Rudolph was the second child to the union of three children.

Rudolph attended Boise grade school and graduated from Jefferson High School of Portland, Oregon.

He was an exceptional all-around athlete playing a variety of sports. While in high school he became an avid basketball player and recognized as a Peninsula Park legend. Then he attended Portland State University on an academic scholarship for Mathematics and Spanish. He was an excellent student all the way through high school and college.

Rudolph then enlisted into the Armed Forces April 13, 1966 where he served 4 consecutive years in the Army Medical Service as a Dental Assistant. During his enlistment he earned The National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Marksman Badge. Rudolph also expanded his education while serving by accomplishing two years in business administration.

After returning from the Military Rudolph began his career as an Executive for Far West Insurance Company, where he excelled and put his knowledge and exceptional math skills to work as an underwriter  “He was one of the best in the country and underwrote investments and insurance coverage for major corporations valued at Millions of Dollars. He later became an Insurance Broker and was self-employed.

After 32 years in the Insurance Business, he retired to care for his mother Emma Lee Nunley for 10 years. Rudolph Leech was a person with many good qualities. His caring and kind hearted soul shined through to all he encountered. His humorous spirit and infectious smile made the best come out in every situation.

Rudolph was preceded in death by his parents; Emma and George Nunley; Father Hunter T Leech; his younger brother Charles A Leech; and Great Nephew Gaylon Lamar Smith Jr.

Rudolph leaves to cherish his memory; Sister Virginia (Alvin, Sr.) Carroll.  Nieces & Nephews; J’epuse’e , Erminia, Mario, Frederick , Alvin Jr, Tangela , Kimonti, Jitu, Damani, and Gwen.  Breakfast Club Members; Carl,  Rance, Stefan, West, Wayne, . Friends that became Family:  Mel and Janice, and a host of family and friends.
