Obituary

Robert E. Cox, born on March 29, 1934, in Hollywood, California, peacefully passed away on July 15, 2023, at his home in Portland, OR. Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Carolyn M. Cox, his daughters Brenda Cox, Amber Hill and Simone Parsons. His sons Dale Cox, Donald Cox, and David Cox. He will also be remembered by his 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. 

Robert served his country with distinction, dedicating eight years to the US Air Force and an additional 29 years in the Reserves, retiring as a Master Sergeant. After his military service, he pursued a fulfilling career in the Portland Police Department, where he served for many years, ultimately retiring as a detective. 

Beyond his professional life, Robert had a profound love for his family. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones. He had a passion for flying, holding a pilot's license and owning his own plane. Boating was another of his favorite pastimes, and he found joy in navigating the open waters. Robert also found great delight in his motorcycles, embracing the exhilaration of the open road. 

Robert's lifelong journey was deeply intertwined with his beloved wife, Carolyn M. Cox. Together, they embarked on a remarkable adventure, establishing and successfully running a business for 14 years until their well-deserved retirement. 

In accordance with Robert's wishes, there will not be a funeral or memorial service held. The family appreciates your understanding during this time. 

As we say goodbye to Robert E. Cox, we remember a man who lived a life of dedication, love, and adventure. His legacy will forever be carried in the hearts of those he touched. 

Robert E. Cox will be dearly missed and forever remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather. His unwavering commitment to his family, his courageous service to his country, and his zest for life will continue to inspire us all. May his spirit soar high in the skies he loved, and may his memory bring comfort and strength to those who loved him. Rest in peace, Robert, knowing that your legacy will live on in our hearts forever.
