Mary Jane Everist

Mary Jane Everist died of natural causes March 7, 2021 at the age of 95 and will be deeply missed by her adoring family. Her smile and giving heart shall never be forgotten.
Mary Jane was born Dec. 29, 1925 in Ogden, Utah to Clyde H. Spencer and Mary McCann Spencer. Mary Jane was always a friend to the newcomer as she was often a newcomer to many rural communities of Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Oregon declaring Bend, Ore., as her hometown in 1938. She graduated from Oregon State College (OSU) with a degree from the School of Business in 1947. Mary Jane married Malvin Everist in 1949 and together operated a successful automotive business, Everist Bros.Inc.
They designed and built two homes in the Parkrose area where they raised their children Christy, Scott, and David.
Mary Jane was a member of Sigma Kappa since 1944; member of Chapter BL-PEO; Deschutes Pioneers 1938-2021, and a member of The United Church of Christ since 1963.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Malvin.
She leaves behind an adoring family. Mother of Christy Strong, Scott (Cindy) Everist and David (Teresa) Everist. Grandmother of Jacob (Songlim), Tracy (Joe) Bowles, Jerry (Brittney), Catherine Everist, and Hilary (Mike) Barreiros. Great-Grandmother of Sienna, Porter, Alexis, Olivia, and Bryce Everist; Zeke Losett; Ryan and Wyatt Bowles; and Baby Barreiros due in May.
Mary Jane will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband in a private service attended by family only. In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to OSU Foundation- School of Engineering-Clyde & Mary Spencer Scholarship, 4238 S.W. Research Way, Corvallis, OR. 97333-1068.
