Mama was very direct, but had too big of a heart. She loved to laugh, take and receive photos, spend time with family and friends. She never got off the phone without saying she loved you. Mama craved love and stability and peace of mind, as she began to grow older, yet she wanted to help everyone, even if she felt she was being pulled in the middle.

Mama always said don’t wear out your welcome and always be ready to go, because if you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready! In the words of her father, “every eye closed ain’t asleep!” Mother believed in God very strongly, although her flesh may be closed, her spirit is free, sure as we all are sitting here today.

Mama had her own love language and she owned it. She loved all her children and sisters and brothers and grandchildren in her own way, but it was her pure love that we will always have with us.
