Obituary of Lizzie Smith
Lizzie Patterson was born in Ida, Louisiana on August 31, 1939 to Viola Abraham and Pat Patterson. Lizzie was the youngest of four children.
Lizzie Patterson moved to Portland, Oregon in 1944 attending Sitton Elementary School and Girls Polytechnic School during her adolescent years.
In 1958 Lizzie met and married Dale Smith, and from their union two children were born: Anthony and Carlos Smith.
During her career, Lizzie worked as a Press Operator at the Oregonian, Nurse’s Aide and served as a Foster Parent. Lizzie became a Christian at an early age and was a long time member of Emmanuel Temple Church.
Lizzie was a devoted mother and loved doting over her only granddaughter, Aubrion Smith.
Lizzie was preceded in death by her: Father Pat Patterson, Sister Lorene Parker and Brother Cleveland Nelson. Lizzie leaves behind her: Mother Viola Horsley, Sister Gloria Hall and Albora Edwards; Children Anthony and Carlos Smith; Granddaughter Aubrion Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many other beloved relatives and friends.
Lizzie will be greatly missed by all who knew her and those whom she touched in life.
