David Charles Wesslund

Dave was born in North Platte, Nebraska March 21, 1952, the fifth of eleven children, to William O. and Ida Ruth Wesslund.  He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and lived and worked in Omaha for several years before moving to Portland in 1980.  Dave ran the Portland Sports Card baseball card shop for twenty years and later worked in other retail capacities.

Dave had lifelong kidney disease and was not expected to survive childhood.  With innovative health care support, he was able to live independently to age 65.

Dave was a lifelong Nebraska Cornhusker fan.

Dave is survived by siblings: Pat Kamin (Thomas), LaVista NE; William Wesslund (Mary Copenhaver), Portland; Linda Kamin (Robert), Omaha; Robert Wesslund (Connie), Lincoln, NE; Daniel Wesslund (Susan), North Platte, NE; Kristen Perkins, LaVista; John Wesslund (Bernadette), LaVista; Susan Petersen [Jeff), North Platte; Janet McClellen, Plattsmouth, NE; Joan Claar (Mark), Overland Park, KS; 17 nieces and nephews; 19 great nieces and nephews.  Dave especially delighted in getting into mischief with the younger generations of the family.

Additional services and internment will be held in Omaha.
