Christ was born at home in Portland, Oregon to Greek immigrants george and Katherine Vokos. He lived on North McKenna Avenue his entire life and died at home at the age of 97.
Growing up in Portland, he attended Portsmouth Elementary and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1940. He served in the Merchant Marine and U.S. Army.
He married Katy Delistraty in 1951. He worked at Nabisco for 25 years then served as Union secretary Treasurer for the Bakery, Confectionery and Tobacco workers, Local 364 for 20 years until his retirement in 1984.
Immersed in his Greek heritage, culture and faith, he traveled to Greece every year where he maintained a family home. He enjoyed gardening and volunteering for various community organizations. He was an active life-long member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
He is survived by his wife Katy of 69 years, their three children; George Vokos, tina Vokos and Eleni Marschman and son-in-law Gene Marschman; four grand children and on great-granddaughter. His presence filled a room; he will be missed.
