Bill John Pappas

Bill John Pappas was born on February 4, 1939, in Limnes, Greece.  He passed away with his loving family by his side on May 28, 2022.  He was laid to rest on June 2, 2022.

At the age of 15, Bill immigrated to the United States from Greece. His first job was as a dishwasher at Ringside Restaurant in Portland, Oregon.  Alongside his father and two brothers he eventually owned a bar, several delis and a restaurant. In 1963 he travelled back to Greece where he met his beloved wife, Georgia and brought her back to the United States.

Bill was predeceased by his father, John Papas and mother, Anastasia Papas.

He is survived by his three siblings: Katina Giannakis, George Papas and Jim Papas; his devoted wife of 59 years, Georgia; his two sons John and Theodore (Ted), daughter Anastasia (Tasha); his two daughter- in- laws, Cathy and Lisa, son-in-law, Brian; and grandchildren Maria, Billy, George and Gabriella.

He was loved by so many. His zest for life, generous spirit and kind heart left an impression wherever he went. He never knew a stranger and always made everyone feel welcomed. He loved fiercely and deeply. His work ethic was beyond measure. He was passionate about his faith, helping those in need, his family, his country and his Greek heritage.  Bill was one of the irreplaceable ones.  He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends.  He will forever be remembered.
