Beatrice "Aunt Bea" Moore

Beatrice Moore, 96, of Portland, Oregon, passed away on March 9, 2023, at her home with family. She was born October 10, 1926, in Beaumont, TX, to Henry Yarborough and Bobbie McLemore, where she was the backbone to the Yarborough and Moore family.

Aunt Bea, as we all called her, was the youngest of six children (two brothers and three sisters). She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, great aunt, and a wonderful friend.

She met Richard L. Moore in Beaumont, TX in the 1950s where she married and had six children, Marylin Spencer (deceased), Bobby Moore (deceased), Billy Moore (Sarah), Shirley Moore (deceased), Norman Moore (deceased), and Annette Moore. During the time of marriage, Richard and Bea relocated to Portland, OR, where she was self-employed.

Aunt Bea was very passionate about The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Upon relocating, Aunt Bea became a member of Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church where she was a member for more than 10 years, where she dedicated a lot of her time. She was an active member of the usher board and sang in the choir.

When Aunt Bea was away from her household duties, she spent time cooking for parties and church banquets for her friends and family and get togethers for her Tea Ladies group. She enjoyed giving back to her community by doing community services and working with the homeless community at Dolphin Park located in Portland, OR where she would pass out pre-made meals.

Aunt Bea volunteered for a variety of food banks. A few of the awards and certificates she was blessed with are the following:  The Appreciation Honors Certificate from Del’s Care Center; the Outstanding Volunteer Service Award from Bethel A.M.E. Church; the Recognition and Participation in V.B.S. She was passionate about helping others and was a huge impact to her surrounding community and church, she was an angel that touched many lives.

Beatrice Moore is survived by her two children, Annette Moore and Billy Moore (Sarah); her grandchildren, Jasmine Moore, Carmina Moore, Malik Moore, Anthony Riley, Ebonie Moore-Wright, Tonda Moore, Euline Moore, Tia Moore, and Zack Moore; her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Richardson, Devaldo Richardson, De’Amoni Wright, Savannah Moore-Jones, Samayiah Moore-Jones, Eva Banks, A’vya Moore, Elijah Moore, Tony Duffy, Tyler Duffy, Angel Duffy, Holly Erickson, Dana Richardson, and a host of great-great grandchildren; nieces Bobbie Bagneris, Barbara Bagneris, Felicia Bagneris and a nephew, Jules Bagneris, III; great-grand nieces and nephew Aza-Renee, Maleya Thomas, and Christopher Williams and a host of others.

Beatrice is preceded in death by her mother Bobbie; husband Richard; children – Marylin, Bobby, Shirley, and Norman; sisters – Eula, Annie Bell, and Lettie Mae; and brothers – Elmer J. and Willie.
