Vivian Lucille Betteridge

Vivian L Betteridge, 91, peacefully passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, at her home in Portland, Oregon. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol and Tara, and four sons, Stephen, Don, Richard and Michael, and was predeceased by her friend of many years, Perry. Vivian was blessed with a large family. She had six children, 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.  When Vivian Lucile Jensen was born on April 13, 1926, in Pasco, Washington, her father, Jorgen, was 39, and her mother, Olga, was 25. She had one sister, Helen. Vivian had three sons and one daughter with Alva Leslie Haner as well as a son and daughter with her second husband, James Betteridge.

Vivian enjoyed the company of friends and family and she loved to entertain. She loved to bowl and played on several teams. She also loved to collect antiques, in particular miniature bottles. She was well know for having the largest collection out west. She owned her own Italian restaurant for several years and then began her career in the printing industry. She first worked for the Boy Scouts and then for Lewis and Clark College managing the printing facility. She retired from there in 1995.

The internment will be at Rose City Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the LDS Church at 3722 Northeast Going Street, Portland, Oregon on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and is open to the public. Vivian loved animals and requested that memorial donations may be made in her name to the Oregon Humane Society.
