Virginia Mae Baugh was the only child born to Cleophis Cooper and Virginia Mae
Holland in September 1929. She was born and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia.
After graduating from high school, she moved to New York City to pursue additional
education. There she met her husband, Gerald R. Baugh, who preceded her in death in
2003. The young couple married in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1954 and moved to Grand
Forks, North Dakota, shortly thereafter. Virginia gave birth to three sons, Gerald Andre
and twins Dr. Reginald Franz (deceased) and Ronald Michael, in Grand Forks. The
family moved to Oregon in 1960, where she would live out the rest of her life. She had
two daughters born in Oregon, Dr. Renee Antoinette and Michelle Marie. Gerald and
Virginia were married for forty-nine years. Virginia leaves behind five grandchildren, two
great-granddaughters, and many other relatives.
Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family, water aerobics, traveling, and shopping.
She was active in the AME Church for many years. She will be remembered as a
wonderful mother and grandmother, and as a kind, loving mother who cared deeply.
She was very proud of her children's accomplishments. Virginia will be missed by many.
