Suzanne Tanzman Kiyokawa passed away on May 31, 2025, in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 67. Born on December 16, 1957, Suzanne - known to many as Sue - graduated from Grant High School in Portland, Oregon in 1976. After receiving her business degree and becoming a legal secretary she landed her first job at Pippin & Bocci Law Firm where she worked for over twenty years. She continued on assisting others in the legal field and later opened Bean Street coffee shop and the Olive and the Grape, which then turned into the Harvest Wine Bar in Lake Oswego.
Sue found great joy in spending time with family and friends. She loved gardening, cooking, relaxing on the golf course, and taking trips to the coast. She made the best iced coffee and enjoyed her lemon drops and bloody marys. Sue brought warmth and laughter wherever she went and her contagious smile and carefree spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Sue is remembered by her husband, Perry Kiyokawa; son, Cameron Kiyokawa; daughter, Melody Hirata (Jeffrey), grandson Lincoln, granddaughter Haley, granddaughter Xio, and great grandchildren Brody and Ellie as well as her siblings; Alice, Nathan, Fern, and Howie Tanzman.
Sue was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, Nana, and friend to many.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents; Abe and Hisako Tanzman and nephew Scotty Tanzman.
We are forever grateful to the doctors and nurses in the Cardiovascular department at Kaiser Sunnyside hospital for their care and genuine compassion.
May memories of Sue bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her
