Samuel George Chinakos

Mr. Samuel George Chinakos was born on July 4, 1919 in Spokane, Washington, the son of George and Anastasia Chinakos. He was raised and educated in Camas, Washington. He married Katherine Mirras on October 18, 1948 in Vancouver, British Columbia. They moved to Portland in 1948 and have lived here since. Mr. Chinakos served in the US Navy. He had worked as a timber cruiser and was an entrepreneur. He has been a longtime member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He passed away on September 25 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife, Katherine; his children: George Chinakos, Anastasia (Dennis) McGowan, Maria (John) Miller, John (Maureen) Chinakos, and Sam (Debbie) Chinakos, Jr.; and by his beloved grandson, Nicholas S. Chinakos.
