Robert "Steve" Duane Stevanus

Robert Duane Stevanus, born on November 29, 1935, and known to many as “Duane” or “Steve,” passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024 at the age of 88. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Linda, and four children: Rik, BoDee, Niki, and Erin; he is preceded in death by two sons, Brent and Scott. Steve will be remembered at a small private ceremony with military honors at Rose City Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.

After early years of service in the army, Steve set out on a 40+ year career in education, including 8 years as a principal in Alaska. Despite these adventures, he often reminisced about his early days growing up in Chewelah, Washington and missed time working on the farm the most. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Parkinson’s Foundation.
