Patrick Hague, 83, passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2025, in Portland, Oregon, the city where he was born and spent much of his life.
Born on November 6, 1941, in Portland, Patrick grew up with a deep appreciation for community and connection—qualities that would define his life. A Bronze Star recipient, he served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. His time in the military instilled in him a lifelong respect for service and camaraderie.
A man of many hobbies, Patrick especially loved classic cars and sailboats. He could often be found at a weekend swap meet sharing stories about his favorite finds. His love of photography allowed him to capture the world through his unique lens, preserving memories for himself and those around him. When he wasn’t working on cars you, could find him working in his woodshop or strumming on one of his many guitars.
Patrick was known for his kindness, quick wit, and gift for storytelling. Whether sharing tales from his Navy days or recounting everyday adventures, he brought laughter to every conversation. Pat made friends everywhere he went—his warmth and humor left lasting impressions on all who met him.
He is survived by his beloved wife Sherry, sister Norma, brother Tim, sister-in-law Maureen, brother-in-law Gary, sons Ryan, Richard, and Dan, daughter-in-law Shelley, granddaughter Julia, extended family, and his many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Julia, his sister Michele, and his brother-in-law Gerry.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Funeral Mass will be held on May 21st, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows (5239 SE Woodstock Blvd). A reception will follow the mass. Patrick will be interred at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, please make donations to Paws Assisting Veterans (paveusa.org). A celebration of life will be held later this year.
