Michael Evan Boyer

Mike Boyer was born in the hometown of his parents, Jefferson and Caroline, descendants of Oregon pioneers. He spent childhood where his father’s work took the family:  towns around the state, then Vienna, Virginia, before a period in Caracas and Guanare, Venezuela, where his mother home-schooled him and his siblings. He spent high school years in Ontario and Pierre, South Dakota. He attended Portland Community College and had various occupations before a career as a Portland Public Schools custodian, from which he retired. In 2010 he married Kathy Harvey. He had been a member of the First and Laurelhurst Presbyterian churches; Grace and St. Michael & All the Angels Episcopal churches; and joyfully sang in their choirs. Besides Kathy, brothers Jefferson and John, sister Cathleen Amen; four nephews, a niece and their children survive him.
