Margaret Marie Loos

Margaret Marie “Peggy” Meskel was born June 15, 1924, in Lebanon, S.D.

She and her family moved to Portland during the depression. Her mother died when she was 12 years old, so Peggy, being the oldest of six children, helped raise her younger siblings. Her father died in 1976.

In 1943, Peggy married LeRoy V. Loos. They had seven children: Thomas, LeRoy, Robert, William, Margaret, Joseph, and Ronald.

A celebration of her 100th birthday was shared by many friends and family members on June 15 th , 2024 in Portland. She was preceded in death by her husband, all of her siblings, her oldest son, Tom, her grandson, Ryan, and many friends.

She died peacefully in Battle Ground, WA, on April 25, 2025, at 7:55 pm.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Oregon Humane Society or charity of  choice in Peggy's honor.
