Margaret Bennett passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 93. She was born in Wisconsin in 1932, and relocated to Portland later in life.
Margaret devoted 30 years of her professional life to Jantzen Knitting Mills as a seamstress. In addition to her career, Margaret was a passionate volunteer for the Portland Parks Senior Recreation Centers, where she devoted 20 years, oftentimes as a group leader. She was also an avid hiker, spending countless hours exploring the beauty of Oregon by herself, with friends and family, and as a volunteer leader. Fishing was another joy in her life, which she enjoyed with her late husband, Richard.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Richard "Tiny" Bennett, whose memory she cherished throughout her life. She is survived by her sons, Kevin Bennett and Jerome Bennett, along with her six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Margaret will be remembered not only for her roles as a mother and grandmother, but also for her adventurous spirit and dedication to her family and friends who will remember her always.
