Marcia Elaine Alex

Marcia was born on April 15th, 1953 in Oakland, California to Janet and John Alex and was lovingly raised by Georgia and James Karussos in Portland, Oregon. She passed away at the age of 72 on August 18th, 2025 in Portland, Oregon.

A proud graduate of Cleveland High School and a Portland State University student, Marcia dedicated her professional life to the world of broadcasting working in Master Control at Paragon Cable for many years. She was a beloved member of the Greek Orthodox community of Portland, Oregon where she created lifelong friends and memories.

Marcia’s love for family and friends was immeasurable. She had the rare gift of making everyone feel welcome whether it was hosting vibrant dinner parties or gatherings, loved ones cherished moments of togetherness. She was an accomplished pianist and harpsichord player whose music brought joy to all when heard her play.

A passionate and competitive scrabble player, Marcia could often be found engaged in a spirited game challenging both her mind and her opponents. Above all she adored her cats who provided her much comfort and companionship.

Marcia passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and support of her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, joy and devotion to the people held dear. Her presence will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Marcia was preceded in death by her brothers Donald W. Aspros and Michael S. Karussos of Portland, Oregon. Marcia is survived by her sisters Tulsi Milliken of Fallbrook, California and Laura Walkup of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Marcia’s family thanks everyone for their outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
