Mrs Lula Mae Williams was born on Tuesday, April 26, 1932. She was the 3rd of 3 children born to the late Will and Bertha (Haynes) Jefferson in Centreville, MS. She slipped away quietly from this earthly life on Wednesday Dec. 3rd 2025 to be with the Lord at the age of 93 years. Sis Lula was a southern cook.  She helped her mother Bertha as she cooked at Camp Van Dorn in the early 1940's. And her dad was a farmer, who taught her to put up fence posts. Sis Lula attended Finch High school in Centreville, MS.  She moved to Flint in the early 1950's, where she worked several jobs aside from caring for her kids.  She was at Woolworth and over 20 years at AC Delco local 651.

As a youngster she became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Centreville, MS. In Flint she attended Bethel United Methodist and others in Flint. Sis Lula moved to Portland Oregon from Tempe/ Chandler AZ after living with her younger daughter Brenda and family close to 5 years. Later, close to the end of her life, she gave her life to Jesus Christ at 35th Ave and Alberta Church of Christ. Her favorite verse was John 3:16-17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." Other verses " If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."  Her favorite song was Amazing Grace and her favorite quotes were We tell her we love her, she says "Love you more"

Mrs. Lula Mae Williams leaves to cherish her memory: 4 daughters. Lee Anna Coleman, Elaine Steel, both of Flint, Sherrie (Clarence) Eason of Portland and Cherrie (James) Arnold of McPherson KS; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great- grandchildren; 2 nieces; 2 great-grandnieces and a host of other relatives and special friends. The women at 35th Ave Bristol Road, Bethel and Phoenix Church. Mrs. Williams was preceded by her sons, Andrew Steel and Ernest Steel, daughter Brenda Stith, sons-in-law Ronald Stith and Kelvin Coleman, parents Will and Bertha Mae Jefferson, brother Charlie Jefferson, sister Miola Shook and nephews Robert Dunn and Larry Dunn.

The family would like to express special thanks to 35th Ave Church of Christ. The family wishes to thank our relatives and friends for their kind expressions of concern and heartfelt sympathy during our bereavement. May God richly bless each and everyone of you.
