‘Jo’ Martens

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Josephine “Jo” Martens on August 6th, 2026. Jo was born on February 8th, 1942 to parents Ada and Vincenzo Siri in Portland, Oregon. She married neighbor Frank Martens in 1962 and adopted two children Tim and Tina Martens.

A devoted homemaker, she found her greatest joy in caring for her family and creating a warm and loving home. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense happiness and pride to her life. Her love for her family was unconditional, and the memories she created with them will be cherished for generations to come.

She had a love for adventure and enjoyed traveling, making memories wherever her journeys took her. She was also a loyal fan of the Portland Trail Blazers and never missed an opportunity to cheer on her team.

Known for her strong will and generous heart, she was a friend to all. She had a special gift for making people feel welcome and cared for, and her kindness extended well beyond her own family. She volunteered her time at the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry, giving back to those in need and quietly making a difference in the lives of others.

To those who knew her, she was more than a neighbor, she was a friend, a familiar smile, and someone who could always be counted on. She was deeply loved by her family, friends, church community, and neighbors, and her absence will be felt by many.

She is survived by her two children: Tim and Tina, her four grandchildren: Tyler, Jordenn (Eduardo), Sydni, and Brendon, her sister Joann, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Martens and sister Adele Robison.
