Iphigenia "Fifi" Psihogios

February 18, 1934 — December 21, 2023

Iphigenia (Fifi) Thomas Psihogios was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on February 18,
1934, the daughter of Gust A. and Mary L. Thomas. She graduated from McKinley
High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and teaching
certificate from Coe College in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of Kappa Delta
Sorority and President of her ΚΔ chapter at Coe. Upon graduation from Coe in 1955,
Fifi was married to her beloved Peter, and they were together for 56 years until he
passed in 2011.

Professionally, she was an educator and business owner. For over 40 years, she
worked side-by-side her husband, Peter owning and operating Andrews Furniture
Galleries in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

A lifelong member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Fifi was a woman of
faith. She sang in the first choir at the then newly erected Holy Trinity church. She
tirelessly worked for the Greek Festival and The Greek Orthodox Ladies
Philoptochos Society where she was one of the founding members of the Portland
Philoptochos circle program and the first circle leader of the Priscilla circle. Fifi
always lent a helping hand wherever needed. She attended church faithfully.

Proud of her Greek Heritage, Fifi had been a member of the Daughters of Penelope
and the Hellenic-American Cultural Center & Museum. In 1951, when as a recent
high school graduate, she attended a meeting of Greek youth and became one of the
founding members of the national organization GOYA, the Greek Orthodox Youth of
America.

A loving and devoted wife and mother, Fifi’s husband and children were always the
most important in her life. She enjoyed spending time with Peter in Palm Desert CA,
their favorite get away for years. Fifi always said that her happiest times were spent
with Peter, her children and grandchildren, and being connected to her many
cousins and in the U.S. and Greece. Her husband Peter, parents, brothers, sister and
son in-law Michael precede her in death. Respected and loved by many, Fifi will be
greatly missed.

Fifi is survived by her daughter Mari Lou P. Diamond, and son George P. Psihogios
(Lisa), grandchildren Nikki (Anthony), Chrysi (Peter), Peter (Kathryne), Matthew
