Frederick "Fred" Alan Burnside

Frederick (Fred) Alan Burnside was born July 14th, 1951 in Portland, OR, to Barbara and Lloyd Burnside. As a child Fred attended Gregory Heights Elementary School and graduated from Madison High School in 1969. In 1971 Fred Married Nancy Sneyd and they went on to have two sons, Jeremy and Brandon. Though the marriage ended in divorce, Fred and Nancy remained close. Throughout his adult life Fred worked as a skilled tradesman within the greater Portland area. He moved to Rockaway Beach, OR, where he lived for the past 21 years. Fred quickly made lifelong friends in his new town, and was embraced by the Rockaway Beach Community. During his free time, Fred was a poet, musician, dreamer, muse, writer, coffee buddy, surfer, and lover of the Ocean, nature, and animals. Fred Passed away May 24th, 2017 with his family by his side. He is survived by his sons, Jeremy Burnside of Portland, OR, and Brandon Burnside of Eugene, OR., his mother and stepfather Barbara and Ben Hordes of Portland, OR, and sister Lorna Lang of LaBelle, FL, and his two grandsons, Kyle and Kacen Burnside, of Springfield,OR.
