Obituary of Eglantine Jenkins

Mrs. Jenkins transitioned from this life, on February 29 th at the age of 82.

Eglantine was born August 18, 1933 in Hurdle Mills, North Carolina the youngest of 15 children born to Isaac and Hannah (Chapell) Carrington. Raised in Durham North Carolina there she graduated high school. She married Andrew Jenkins Jr. and from this union they had two sons. Andrew preceded her in death. She worked for over 25 years for Ciba‐Geigy Pharmaceuticals as a Inspector in Summit New Jersey she retired in 1992. In 2005 she moved from Elizabeth, New Jersey to Portland Oregon to be with her son Pasquale in her later years. Eglantine attended church all her life, accepted Christ at an early age raising her two sons in the church as well. She had been a faithful member of the Baptist Church in Elizabeth New Jersey serving as a Greeter for over 20 years, also active with the Church of God in Christ and most recently attending Highland Christian Center of Portland until her health started to fail.

Eglantine is survived by her sons, Jeffery N. Jenkins and Pasquale (Dietra) Jenkins, grandchildren, Rashan (Victoria) Jones, Matthew Jenkins, Daniel Jenkins, Andrew A. Jenkins and Jolene A. Jenkins. Step grandchildren, Dietrich D. Moore and Gregory M. Wilson II, three great‐grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Committal and burial services will be held at Rose City Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.
