Dele Adeeye Arigbon

Funeral Service to be held, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18th at Bethesda Christian Church, 109 N. Emerson St, Portland, Oregon. On Friday May 27th 4pm 2016 Dele Adeeye Arigbon’s long struggle with heart disease came to an end and God called him home.

Born January 28th 1956 in Surulere Lagos Nigeria, the eldest of seven children, three boys and four girls. His parents Olumuyiwa Arigbon and Grace Ekhator Arigbon were proud parents.

When Dele completed school at Lagos State Western Region in Ibadan Capital of Oyo State Nigeria. He was off to USA, in 1975 he began attending Portland State University by the year of 1979 he had completed his bachelor in Science Degree along with a black studies certificate and started pursuing his masters in urban planning and development.

Dele fathered a daughter with Patricia Garner (Fola Chaney) the first of his six children. He later met his soul mate Marjorie Fuentes Mitchell and they were married in September of 1979. Marjorie had a son (Leo Mitchell) Their union produced five children three daughters and two sons. Olabisi Carter, Omolola Arigbon,Oluwakemi Waters, Ayodele Arigbon and Adebayo Arigbon .

Due to the growth of Dele’s family he decided to start his own business in 1986. Quality Janitorial Service of NW. His slogan “Its name speaks for itself". Over the years Dele employed many Nigerians. He believed in giving second chances so he employed several others who had barriers in gaining employment.

Before Dele’s open heart surgery in 2009 he had been a member of NCOSWA ( Nigerian community Oregon and Southwest Washington)he also was a member of Oduduwa of Oregon, Which he recently had rejoined, but unfortunately had been too sick to attend meeting.

Dele was a member of Bethesda Christian Church for many years under the leadership of Pastor TR Brown. He later became a member of Rehoboth World Healing Center under the leadership of Derrick Traylor up on his departure, Dele remained a member at the branch of Rehoboth World Healing Center  “Life Empowerment Church” Pastor Byron Peterson.

Dele loved God and his people He had a big heart .He was an amazing son, husband, father, grandfather, and provider. His greatest joys was making farina for his grandchildren, playing WWE with them, picking them up from school, and he enjoyed spending time with them during their special fun Fridays after school. Dele had a great personality, a giving spirit and he helped many people fund their dreams. He was loved by many and be greatly missed.
