David Dwight Johnson

May 16, 1953 — December 10, 2016

A Memorial Service will be held, 1 pm, Saturday, February 4th at Faithful Savior Lutheran Church, 11100 NE Skidmore St, Portland, Oregon 97220.

David went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 10, 2016. He was born in Portland, Oregon on May 16, 1953 to August and Virginia Johnson. He graduated from Parkrose High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Portland State University. He married Diane Klug on April 19, 1986. Although they did not have children of their own, David deeply loved his niece and three nephews. He loved the outdoors, especially the ocean and taking drives on scenic routes. He loved playing cards and games, especially with his beloved mother. David had a keen wit, a wonderful sense of humor, and natural charm. Although he had multiple medical problems for the last twenty years, he never lost his loving spirit and determination to go on. It is a comfort to know that he is no longer in pain, and that he is at peace with his heavenly Father. He is survived by his wife and very best friend, Diane, sisters Jan (John) Proby and Nancy (Ron) Povey, uncle Roger Johnson, nephews Kevin (Amy) Povey, Nick (Stephanie) Povey, George (Lisa) Klug, his niece Marie(Ryan) Salter, six great nieces and two great nephews. Graveside services were held, December 19, 2016, 1 pm at Corbett Mountain View cemetery.
