Antoinette Delaney

Antoinette ‘Nette’ Ollie Charlene Delaney was born May 20, 1981, in Portland, Oregon to Malinda Whitlow Flowers and the late Jeffrey Mark Delaney. She was a happy child and enjoyed school, making many lifelong friends along her way. She attended Woodlawn Elementary and Portsmouth Middle Schools where she was identified as a talented and gifted student and entered into the TAG program. She received numerous academic awards and graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School. She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She loved to sing and was a choir member at New Jerusalem Baptist and Lifeline Christian Church. In October 2001, she welcomed the birth of her first daughter, Au'Driana. They moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to live with her cousin Daticia in 2002. In April 2003, she and Donald Deloney, Jr welcomed her second daughter, Au'Shanae. Nette loved her daughters with all of her heart and lovingly referred to them as her 'minis'. She loved to cook and attended culinary school in Vegas. She and her ‘minis’ could often be found in the kitchen cooking special meals together. As much as she and her girls liked Vegas, health challenges brought about the decision to relocate to Oregon in October 2016. Antoinette had an awesome sense of humor and kept her friends and family laughing. She loved wearing socks with colorful designs and was known for her signature fake mustache jewelry- earrings, necklaces, rings; you name it and she probably owned it. She even had a tiny moustache tattooed on her index finger. She loved animals, especially kittens and had a special fondness for llamas. She had a large collection of assorted llamas and other stuffed animals in her room. She was so excited the day she got to go see and pet a live llama with friends from her assisted living community. Nette had an unconditional love for people and easily made friends wherever she went. Despite having many health challenges, she decided not to let them keep her from enjoying life and spreading joy to those she met. Antoinette passed away unexpectedly on February 4, 2023 in Portland, Oregon. She was 41. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Au'Driana and Au'Shanae, mother Malinda Whitlow Flowers (Anthony 'Pops'), brother Navarre Sr. (Jeanette) and Jeffrey Jr, uncles Robert, Lenord, Edward Duane, and Phillip Tyrone, cousins Daticia, Amanda, Andiera, Nigel, Nichole, Charles, Ryan, more than 20 additional first cousins, numerous other cousins, adopted family members, and countless friends including her best friend since childhood Nadja Cunningham and special friend Darrel Dixon. The beauty of her personality and her sense of humor will be missed by everyone that knew her. We thank you for the support and unconditional love you have shown to Nette throughout her life.May God richly bless you and your loved ones.
