Anna L. (Johnson) McClinton

In Loving Memory

Anna Louise McClinton, 92, of Portland, Oregon passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024.  She was born in Duluth, Minnesota, the youngest child of Everett Roosevelt Johnson Sr. and Anna Lee Victor.

Anna, a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, is survived by: daughters Sharon (Georgena), Annette (Dwight) and Jacqueline; sister-in-law Ellen Johnson, granddaughters, Robin, Erica, Rebecca and Amyah; grandson Darryl Jr., and 13 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Anna Lee Johnson, brothers Everett Jr. (Joanne), Robert "Bunkey" and Maxell, sisters Maxine (Paul) and Gertrude (Walt), and son Hobart III.

After graduating from Central High School in Duluth, Anna married and moved to Minneapolis where she raised her 4 children before relocating to Portland, Oregon in 1972.  She spent many years in Portland as a bank manager for several banking institutions.  She rounded out her retirement years at Magstar Technologies in Hopkins, Minnesota.  At 85 years of age she returned to the Pacific Northwest and remained there until her passing.

Loved and adored by grandchildren, great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews, Anna enjoyed fishing, playing video games, music, golfing, working with tools, fixing just about anything (she literally took apart a washing machine and put it back together!) and sharing her no-nonsense wisdom and sense of humor with family and friends.

Anna’s passion, devotion, dedication, sacrifice, resilience and love will be forever felt by her family and friends.

A celebration of life will take place at 11am on February 24 at Unity Spiritual Center of Portland, 4525 SE Stark St, Portland, OR 97215. Flowers will be received by Unity Spiritual Center of Portland an hour prior to the service. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice Adventist in Portland, Oregon.
