Alan Kasubuchi

Alan Kasubuchi, age 66, of Portland, passed away after a long illness on April 26th, 2014. He was born in Portland to Mary (Okito) Kasubuchi and Ben Kasubuchi Sr. Alan will be remembered for his wonderful, sarcastic, sense of humor, his loyalty and caring for others. Although a very private man, he found happiness in his good friends and family.
He attended Lincoln High School and Portland State University and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked at customer service for several Oregon banking institutions. Alan was a loyal customer of Powell's Books and the Jelly Bean Card Shop and especially enjoyed going to OMSI and having lunch out with friends at Starkey's.
He is survived by his brother, Ben Kasubuchi, and sisters in law Kay Juran, Portland, and Diane Kasubuchi, Gresham, nieces, Paige Rinde, Portland, Whitney Beneck, Fort Collins, CO and Christie Kasubuchi, Gresham, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Kasubuchi.
At his request a private service will be held. In Lieu of flowers, if you wish, remembrances may be made to Oregon Nikkei Endowment (Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center) 121 NW 2nd Ave, Portland,OR,97209. Website: oregonnikkei.org
