James (“Jim”) Malcolm Guest of Aloha, Oregon passed away peacefully following a short illness August 17, 2023 at the age of 69. Jim is survived by three loving siblings; older brothers Peter in Henderson, NV and John in Liverpool, UK, and by his younger sister Joan also in Liverpool, UK.
Born on December 4th, 1953 in Liverpool, UK to John and Julia Guest, both deceased, Jim was never married and had no children. He worked several years for Girobank in the UK before immigrating to the United States in 1990.
Jim moved from Liverpool, England to Southern California in 1990, where he initially worked as manager of a sandwich shop, before relocating to Portland, Oregon in 2001 where he was employed first by Fry’s Electronics and subsequently by Office Depot as a technical sales specialist. In that role, he was able to fully realize his love of working with computers and technology in general. Jim was an avid soccer fan, and in particular he was a lifelong fan of Liverpool Football Club. He also loved watching nostalgic British TV programs and WW2 movies.
Jim’s proudest achievement was becoming a citizen of the United States and he was one of the kindest and most loving people one could ever meet. He loved to help children, especially those of the family with whom he lived with for the last 10 years of his life.
A huge thank you to Zeb Ghouri and his wife Kiran, Zeb’s mother and Zeb and Kiran’s 3 children. Jim was a beloved member of their family for the last 10 years.
Contributions to the Autism Society of Oregon are more than welcome.
